Gutter And Downpipe Blockage

It almost inevitable that at some stage in its life, the gutering on your home will become blocked. If the rainwater pipe is blocked with the same debris it will be a little more difficult to solve. You could try pushing a drain spring through the pipework. However, if it is plastic, disconnect all the sections of pipework and carry out the process at ground level. This also allows you to inspect and clear the whole section. It will normally be a blockage at the bottom end that causes the water to back up and spill from the joints. The joints are not built to be watertight. Once cleared you can reassemble and re-fit the pipework for another year!
